These were a very good change up from what I usually make, but I haven't made them since. I still prefer a fresh pear and blue cheese salad. Still, they were delicious. Thanks Ina!

I made this for a Valentine Family/Friend Brunch and everyone LOVED it! The flavors are complex and play off of one another beautifully! Another first class, elegant recipe made easy -thanks again, Ina!

I served this as a small salad to begin a dinner for my family, and it was a huge hit. I would definitely eat this as an entire meal.

I made it for a friend (who is an excellent cook and my husband. It smelled so good while it was cooking and the sauce was so good. Also, it was an impressive dish to serve. Will definately make this again.

I have made with white wine. It was great just milder flavor. The great thing about many of Ina's recipes is that you can use a basic recipe like this and substitute the type fruit, such as apples or apricots, cheese & wine to match the fruit. Have fun using ingredients your family likes. Thank you Ina

Can anyone suggest a different wine or alcohol instead of port? I always have red wine around, but usually not port...

Quite a crowd-pleaser, and easily adapts to minor adjustments. Will definitely make this again.

Super easy. I made this the morning of my dinner, refrigerated it, and then brought it to room temperature before serving. Delicious and beautiful on the plate. I always appreciate something this good that can be made in advance.

This was delicious! It paired nicely with our white bean soup. I'm sure it would make a wonderful meal just served with bread. I'm going to be making it again and seeing how far ahead the mixture and pears can be prepped. Just wished the recipe clarified that the lemon juice should be saved to use in the dressing later.
