Ina has another home-run. Followed the recipe to a "T" for the shrimp and cocktail sauce , i wouldn't change anthing. And, it was so much easier then my method. I will never buy store bought sauce again.

I like simple recipes. If you start with a great product you want to let it shine and just enhance the flavor. This recipe was spot on! We usually use Old Bay seasoning on our shrimp and boil them. This actually turned out better and was pretty quick. I checked at 8 minutes and they were a little undercooked still so i kept them in a few more minutes. I cooked them a tad too long, so next time i will make sure to cook them for 9 minutes. The cocktail sauce was amazing! It was so simple and had a really great taste. We are never buying store bought again. I would suggest halving the cocktail sauce recipe because it produced a good amount of sauce, even four people couldn't use all that sauce. It would be the right amount for a good size party. Bottom line, you must try this!

This was absolutely amazing! The best cocktail sauce EVER and the shrimp were just perfect! I had a salad with it and that was my dinner. Next time I will serve it with my homemade Rice Pilaf with Pinenuts and fresh grated parm.

So easy and so delicious. I usually cook these for a shrimp Cobb salad (instead of chicken and it is always a crowd pleaser.

This was great. So easy and a great new way to have shrimp cocktail. I bought 2 pounds of huge shrimp (my fish market had only "under 12" for a party of 8 and it was devoured! The cocktail sauce was really good - I prefer mine a bit spicier but this had enough of a kick to please all palates and not be offensive to anyone's. Like other reviewers I likely won't do shrimp cocktail any other way.
I made the cocktail sauce the day before - sometimes I find things like this taste better the second day and I also wanted to save myself some time the day of the party. It worked out very well! Like every other recipe I've made of Ina's, this was a hit :

I've made this a couple of times now, and it's a crowd pleaser. Roasting shrimp is definitely the way to go! The cocktail sauce is great too, and it's so much tastier than the jarred stuff. I used a bit more lemon and horseradish and less ketchup, but you can adjust the recipe to your own preferences.
