I have never been a fan of shrimp salad, but this recipe has converted me - BIG TIME!! The combination of flavors, in particular the orange and fresh dill, are simply wonderful. I wouldl have never considered roasting shrimp, but now I will prepare shrimp this way more often. My husband loved the dish! Then, I prepared it a week later for a luncheon with a friend. I served it with some fresh, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers from our garden and grilled ciabatta. YUMMY!!! This is an easy and tasty summertime treat. Another keeper from Ina! Thanks!

I fixed this salad for my daughter & friends about a week ago ... they gave it two thumbs up. I wasn't too sure about mixing the orange with the shrimp, but it gave the shrimp amazing flavor!!! I can't wait to make this dish again. I put the shrimp salad on kaiser rolls & cut the rolls in fours & served it as an appetizer. Ina ... this is really a winner ... ;-

And you have the perfected version of this recipe! I just ate this over romaine lettuce and it has to be one of the best recipes i have ever tried! I am so happy and surprised that this recipe was so good! I think next time i will cut the shrimp in half pieces or use smaller shrimp which would make it easier to eat in a salad. I absolutely love Ina and cant wait to try another one of her recipes. Yummmy!!!

I served this yesterday at a family party. I saw Ina make it on her show, so I knew to add the dressing to the shrimp and not the other way around. I used less than half the dressing and it was plenty. People are very concerned about fat, so I did not want it dripping in a mayo based sauce. I too was concerned about the orange instead of lemon, so I copped out used half lemon and half orange and called it Citrus Shrimp salad. I also added some diced celery with the red onion to add more crunch. I added the dressing while the shrimp were warm and let it sit for 30 minutes before chilling it just as Ina suggested. I made it Saturday and served it Sunday. The flavors blended very well. I served it in leaves of butter lettuce like little shrimp lettuce cups. WOW, what a hit. The roasting of the shrimp is great. Thanks again, Ina!

Thsi recipe is not only easy, but unbelievably good! I made it for an hors d'ouevres for a cocktail party. I put a little on a leaf of endive to make it easy finger food. The flavors are great and everyone raved about it!

I thought this recipe was absolutely delicious. So many elements to the seasonings like capers, dill, and orange! Just delightful and versatile I think! The dressing itself could be used on a green salad and the shrimp salad as a whole could be piled into rolls for a delicious sandwich. I was served this at a friend's home and marched right home to pull the recipe as I plan to use it OFTEN.

I didn't have oranges on hand so I used a lemon instead. I also didn't have fresh dill on hand so I used dried dill (less than half of what was called for in this recipe.
No complaints - everyone loved it! Roasting the shrimp instead steaming or boiling them, and losing all the flavor in the water you boil it in, is SO smart ... and easy. I chilled the salad for about an hour, brought it almost to room temperature; servied it on a bed of lettuce ... fabulous. I was able to achieve a luncheon that was casual, yet elegant. Thanks Ina!

I loved the idea, taste and EASE of roasting the shrimp. I'll definitely be doing it again! It did take several minutes longer in my oven (with an independent thermometer inside oven than the recipe stated.
But, BUT, I thought that the orange with the shrimp would be a nice change of pace - Wrong. Orange, to me, just does not go well with shrimp. It needs lemon or lime juice and zest. [Btw, why is grapefruit zest never used in recipes, in general?]
Also, the dill (or something in the final mix created a very bitter taste to the dressing. The dressing with everything besides the dill (I used dried dill since I prefer it - really was not bitter. I never ever get a bitter taste when I use a generous amount of it in my mom's awesome dill dip (for veggies. I finally couldn't take the bitterness any longer and ended up rinsing the dressing off of the rest of the shrimp salad.
It did look like she put A LOT of dressing on the shrimp in the episode, as others have attessted to here - I agree. Then again, she just raved (twice!! how healthy her granola bars are that she made on today's new show. Yeh, with all that butter and loads of honey (=sugar =calories she poured into the oat mixture!!! SO THAT'S WHY you never trust a skinny chef, I guess.

I was so excited to try this recipe after I viewed her show, but I was very disappointed with the end result. This salad has an overwhelming orange flavor, i can't even taste the shrimp because there is so much orange zest. I also thought that the recipe called for too much mayo, there was too much sauce, and it was very watery. I don't know why everyone seems to love it so much. I don't plan on making it again.
