Other than BBQ method for shrimp, the only other way I've cooked shrimp is following Emeril's Favorite Boiled Shrimp recipe. Tender, juicy and never over cooked and has a well balanced delicate flavor. You boil up a sachet of spices/herbs in the water, put in the shrimp and take off the heat for 8 min. Sometimes I don't let them chill very long as I put a small amount of dressing for the salad on them slightly cooled. I have not roasted shrimp and look forward to trying this recipe - especially the homemade dressing.

Roasting shrimp is so easy and tasty.

Laurie: You'll want to use raw shrimp. I bought peeled and deveined - a little more expensive but so much easier.

These shrimp are really good- but each time I've seen this episode repeated Ina's comment about "much better than boiled shrimp" always bothers me. My father lived in Louisiana during the last years of his life and could buy wonderful shrimp along side of the road. He would cook them up for us by boiling in the wonderful cajun/creole seafood boil spice mixes that are available in Louisiana (and many other locales as well talk about spicing up the shrimp. Its not just all about boiling them in plain water. I hope Ina can find some boil seasoning some day and talk about that.

These recipe is great and I make it all the time. Reminds me of the shrimp cocktail sauce we always got in England when I was growing up. anyway, I have been at do's where someone else brings those frozen shrimp with sauce in the middle and they don't hold a candle to these in terms of flavor. I make it exactly as it says here and they always come out great. It is one of my go to appertizers to keep on hand.

The roasted shimp is so good with the dressing. I never thought shrimp would go good with thousand island dressing.
