Best tomato soup ever!! and I love the fact that it doesn't have cream in it, it doesn't need it, it's so flavorful and delicious. Definitely will make it again.

It was absolutely delicious, but too many seeds. I had to pass it through a sieve. But very full and beautiful flavors.

Delicious. I had a lot of basil in my garden I wanted to use before the frost. I made three batches and froze it.

So delicious. I don't even know where the depth of flavor came from! I didn't have a food mill or even food processor, so I mashed it with a potato masher. It's even good cold. Could have been used for a pasta sauce or pizza. With the leftovers, I managed to get my hands on a blender and pureed it with a couple fresh tomatoes and a touch of chicken stock. Heated it up and dipped a grilled cheese/panini, which i made with a garlic mayo, fresh mozz and genoa salami. I also served it once with a panini made with garlic and basil mayo, aged white cheddar and fig jam. So good! I hope someone else uses these ideas because I think you'll like it.

I haven't made this yet but I plan to on a brisk fall or winter night. I am going to try to make most of it in my VitaMix. It can even heat the soup.

I added 4 oz cream cheese and cut the basil to 2 cups. Absolutely my favorite tomato basil soup recipe. Paired it with WSU Cougar Cheese with Dill and Garlic Cheese Sandwiches. OMG to die for. If you haven't tried Cougar Cheese go to WSU website and get some. You'll love me for the idea.

Added about a tablespoon of finely grated young celery stacks and a bit of good quality paprika... also used "fire roasted" canned tomatoes to underscore the effect.

Do you think it's possible to make this soup and then can/jar it up to eat later on?
