i didnt blend it at the end, i used it basically as a sause on top of a portobello and topped with parmisan cheese. although it was good, i woundnt consider it a soup

This is by far my most favorite tomato soup. I also use the immersion blender which makes it taste similar to a tomato cream soup. This also freezes really well. To reheat, you can take the frozen soup, put it in a pot over low heat until it simmers. Taste just like the day you made it. Highly recommend trying this soup.

I have made this soup several times and and every time it is delicious. The only difference between my soup and Ina's is that I like things pureed completely, so I just get out my trusty handheld immersion blender. Yum!

I got the recipe and thought yum. I love tomato and basil, it must taste great as a soup. It was very tasty but it tasted like I was eating a cup of pasta sauce. Sorry Ina. On the plus side I had a nice pot of sauce ready to eat with some spagehtti squash. :

Add a piece of garlic bread and you have a wonderful meal for a cold winter night. I have made this several times and it is delicious. Enjoy!

This is one my absolute favorites. It's great in combination with Ina's Croque Monsieur. The ultimate grilled cheese and tomato soup!

This soup is perfect, and a great way to use up your summer harvest of tomatoes and basil.

This recipe is easy and absolutely wonderful! The fresh basil, thyme and the red pepper add a little zing to a rather ordinary type of soup. Ina's Roasted Tomato Basic Soup is not ordinary at all and worth a try. I pair it with chicken escallopini with lemon and it makes a great meal. The soup is even better the next day.
