This another winner from Ina!! I have served it several times..most recently with her baked shrimp scampi. I've gotten nothing but rave reviews..even from people who don't like tomatoes. It's very easy since you can roast the tomatoes early in the day and just leave them covered on the counter. I usually use 16-18 tomatoes if they aren't very big and I pour the juices left on the pan over the completed salad.....fabulous!!!!

This is fabulous! I am making the recipe for the second time tonight and will make it again next week for a holiday party. So easy and the tomatoes are great on their own as a side. I have also used them on sub sandwiches for an extra burst of flavor.

Just loved this. I could have stopped at just the tomatoes and eaten them all in one sitting!

Yummy! I didn't have 2 hours to spare, so I put oven on 400 degrees. Served them on artisan bread that I toasted lightly in the oven. So good!

Last night I made this dish along with Ina's roasted shrimp cocktail - both were yum! But I think even better was what I made with the leftover roasted tomato caprese salad - toasted cheese sandwiches and OMG, they were so good. I used a rustic italian bread and in addition to the tomatoes, mozzerella and basil I added sliced fontina cheese. As you can imagine they were rather thick so I used my grill pan and put my cast iron skillet on top of them while cooking. They were fantastic - the cheeses, tomatoes, garlic, basil and balsamic - all nice and gooey. Give it a try!!!

So delicous! I love tomatoes, but come winter I won't even touch them! This recipe brings great life to those gross winter tomatoes. I didn't have balsamic on hand, but even so, the recipe is still 5 star worthy. I served with sliced and toasted ciabatta bread on the side for a nice side dish appetizer. Delish! Tomatoes are back in my house for winter!

The combination of tastes were great. 2hrs. need to give yourself time to make this dish; otherwise, it was great.

This was absolutely, positively wonderful....much better than the tomato caprese salad that's served with slice tomatos and mozz. cheese. I served this tonite for company and this dish stole the show....even the presentation was awsome. Served with chibatta bread for dipping into the huices. Thanks Ina.....I didn't change a thing.
