I made this for an appetizer party that I am going to. Naturally, I had to do a "taste test". This is so yummy. The flavors are complex and wonderful. Where someone gets off saying that it's too peanutty, well lets just say that I disagree. I know that this will be a hit and I will make it often for gatherings.

Your guest will definitely ask for your recipe. It is so easy to make after you assemble the ingredients. I cut and serve the chicken bite size pieces with picks on the side. If you don't want to cook the sauce it will be good if you just dump it all together and heat in the micro. Fabulous....really!

I love Thai food, and enjoy chicken satay with peanut sauce served in Thai restaurants, so I was looking forward to recreating the complexity of flavors at home. However, this sauce had no complexity and tasted nothing like what is served in Thai restaurants. The sauce tastes overwhelmingly like peanut butter, not at all like authentic Thai. I am going to try a more authentic recipe, using peanuts, not peanut butter. Love Ina's other recipes, but this one is definitely not a keeper.

This was SOOO good!! I loved it. It was so unique from everything I've eaten. My eyes lit up when I dipped the skewered chicken into the sauce and put it in my mouth the first time. SOO good. My mom wasn't a big fan of this, she doesn't like sweet flavors in foods, except for desserts of course. But I thought it was divine!

This seems complicated, but it is not. And it has tremendous depth of flavor - complex with no one ingredient overpowering the others. The sauce is simply divine! We tried something a little different when we had two other couples over to dinner. I prepared the sauce and we put about 1/3 cup of it into a small bowl and basted chicken kabobs with it. Grilled the kabobs, plus a mixture of veggies (red peppers, zucchini, string beans, carrots, and scallions that I had tossed with a little olive oil and salt and pepper. Served it all on a huge platter with Plantation rice and the satay sauce. Everyone raved about the meal - in fact, two of the husbands fought over who would ***** the sauce bowl. This is one of Ina's best - and she has a huge number of winning recipes. By the way, we had an assortment of cold beer to accompany the satay, which was an inspired idea. (And we are all wine drinkers!

If you like chicken with peanut butter, you will love this dish. I have a family of "Foodies" and we love Ina. But it appears we are on another planet with fans on this recipe! We thought the skewered chicken would be fun for my grandson. My daughter, who is an excited new cook, purchased the ingredients, very carefully prepared the sauce, and was extremely discouraged. I smiled at her enthusiasm and told her in trying new dishes, we win some and lose some! My grandson took one bite and said, "All I can taste is peanut butter!" He is only 8 years old and had no idea what was included in the ingredients. So here's to all the peanut butter and chicken fans!!! Ina, tomorrow night I will make your curried chicken salad. I know our family loves that!

Satay sauce required a lot of ingredients & more prep time than I would like for a normal quick, weeknight recipe, but I admit... it was very tasty! We sliced the chicken and served the sauce over that with some peanuts on top. Serve with a veggie & you've got a pretty easy & yummy meal.
