I made the stuffing according to the recipe, adding only sage and thyme. The flavor was nice, but salty; I'd cut that amount in half.

What I really didn't care for was the consistency of the bread. I used a french boule, as Ina suggested in the video. I cut it into 1" cubes. Toasted it. Everything was great, and then I mixed in the meat and apples. A lot of cubes became soggy, while those with crust remained tough, so there was an unpleasant chewiness to the bread.

The finished stuffing looked very pretty, but texturally, it failed to impress anybody. Look for another recipe.

First time making this --a dry run before T-Day next week.'d add more seasonings next time -Poultry, celery seasoning (Yes-Even with Celery, rosemary etc.. Next time I'll use a mix of hot and sweet sausage. I went just mild this time-a little bland. I won't use Sourghdough bread again (Too Heavy and Dense. I'd also rehydrate the Cranberries prior. All in all it was tasty. Good the next day. Probably very Good with some Gravy!!

Amazing! Great flavor, will be making this many many times! Instead of all the butter, I used some olive oil for sauting, everything was still very moist. Added sage and poultry seasoning to the breadcrumbs prior to baking for 10ish minutes. This was also my first batch of stuffing ever to make, and is very easy to make. Delish!

I made this stuffing today and it was absolutely delicious! I did however tweak it a bit to my taste. I peeled the skin off the apples and I added a bit of poultry seasoning and sage. Every recipe I've tried from Ina has been awesome! I'm definitely making this stuffing for Thanksgiving...

As far as it being dry, I accidentally used the full amount of liquid for half the amount of stuff. And, it came out moist yet still hearty.

I wouldn't have this again. the apples and cranberries make it too sweet. I prefer a heartier stuffing.
