I thought I would love this. I saw Ina make it and love everything in it. It was bland, the croutons were soggy and I saw no redeeming qualities. Maybe if you made the tomato and cheese, doubled the garlic , cooked it and then and added crisp croutons at serving it would be okay.

I made this tonight as a side dish and my family loved it. My tomatoes made a lot of juice and it was very moist...maybe a little too moist. My husband cut up the bread and it should have been cut up smaller so make sure and cut it in the 1/2 inch cubes. It makes a lot. We are going to eat it with eggplant parm tomorrow night. My husband says this is a keeper!

Absolutely wonderful! I did use a whole Wheat baguette to add additional fiber and protein and can't imagine that it changed the wonderful flavor. Will be making this again and again.

This is one of the easiest Ina dishes I've prepared. The tomatoes are so sweet and the crusty bread crunchy and the cheese just melts in your mouth. Really a great dish to serve any night of the week.

I love baked tomatoes so decided to try this. We loved it, my husband loved it as a side dish. I felt they needed something so would suggest dishing over more bread cubes which are crispy just before serving (serve with dish of cubes so people can add or not. Another suggestion which I used is serve it over a dish of fried egg noodles (boil homemade noodles then fry in butter and bacon grease with salt and pepper. Another thought I have is fry breakfast or Italian sausage and add it to the dish before topping with the cheese etc. and baking. We really LOVED it anyway.

I didn't realize that the recipe had to be posted at a later date. I taped the show so I went back and wrote everything down and am I glad I did. I didn't think my husband would like this and he absolutely loved it. My tomatoes didn't have much juice so I added some diced tomatoes from a can and that made it perfect. The bread was just the right consistancy. This is on my list of side dishes. Thanks Ina, another great recipe.

I made this last night for friends and it was delicious! Served with pork tenderloin, but can't wait to try it with steak. One mistake I made was let it sit a bit before I put it in the oven. The bread was a little soggy so HIGHLY recommend putting it in the oven immediately!!

I saw this recipe last week and I could hardly wait for it to be posted!! It was so delicious as a side dish, but I probably could have eaten it as a main dish it was so good! I would highly recommend this dish to any tomato lovers, but I would cut down the salt slightly if you do not enjoy salty dishes.

This is so unbelievably delicious!!! Simple and rustic. There is nothing to overpower the wonderful taste combination of bread and tomato. It is like a beautiful bruschetta casserole. Way to go Ina!!!

I made this recipe last night to go with the marinated grilled pork tenderloin. It is fantastic. I followed it to the letter like I always do the first time and I wouldn't change a thing for my taste. My partner gave it two thumbs up. This will be another favorite side dish. Thanks Ina.
