This is a very good, light breeze! Most recipes I have used prior have been a 1-1-1 ratio and were potent - this one was much better as an afternoon or picnic drink.

My one suggestion/addition: Freeze the grapefruit juice you are going to use in ice cube trays and then make a pitcher ahead of time - it stays frosty cold and doesn't dilute!

This was very good and refreshing. I do want to stress that you have to use Cranberry Juice Cocktail and good grapefruit juice. My husband first bought Cranberry juice sweetened with apple juice since he did not like all the sugar that is added to cranberry juice cocktail . However, it makes the drink too tart and you taste the vodka and tartness of the cranberry juice. I ended up adding lime juice and simple syrup to this batch to save it. The next batch we used the correct ingredients and it was even better.

If you enjoy cosmos, you'll enjoy this drink. This is a light fruity cocktail and not tart at all. Had little reservations about the grapefruit juice (not a huge fan, but you couldn't even taste it, just added to the lightness of the drink.

    Enjoy!

I used it last year for our open house and will use it again this year. I have a prolific ruby red grapefruit tree and freshly squeeze the juice for that WOW factor.I use a lot of Ina's recipes and am never disappointed! They are easy, flavorful; the key is using the best ingredients!

I think the person who hated this recipe probably used plain, unsweetened cranberry juice rather than cranberry juice cocktail. You want to use cranberry juice cocktail and it is regretable that the recipe is not clear on this point.

You should feel free to adjust the proportions for more grapefruit juice vs. cranberry juice cocktail.

Made correctly, this is one of the all time great refreshments for a hot afternoon!

Good drink if you are looking for something not overly sweet. I agree with one reviewer also - you really can't taste the vodka! So be careful....

Loved this drink. Make sure to use fresh grapefruit juice (not the canned stuff. It's a nice change from the Cosmo. Delicious!

I was really looking for a new and refreshing drink for a 4th of July party we were invited too. I read the reviews and thought I had found my drink but I was wrong. I mixed up the drink and served it to my friends and we all threw it out. It was so bitter from the cranberry juice and not at all refreshing. What a waste of juice and vodka. We ended up making margarita's with beer and they were very good and I don't like beer. I thought I had finally found a recipe by Ina that I would like but I was wrong. I don't think I will try any of her recipes again.
