Sooo good! This is my first Christmas as a new mom of twins and figured I better learn how to bake cookies now since I'm not a baker. I didn't have a mixer (stirred it all by hand and used salted butter since that's what is in the fridge and the cookies turned out delicious. I don't even need a few years of practice baking to know these are amazing...too bad the kids can't enjoy them yet, but that means more for mom!

These cookies were okay. I bought them to school with me and all my friends loved it and couldn't believe that I baked it. Oh and if you are using a hand mixer than you have to keep on mixing it until your mixer slows down by itself by collecting all the dough. Stand mixer is much more eisier though. They were okay though and I used different cookie cutters like a heart and star.

Super yummy cookies! My first batch went smoothly. My second batch came out a bit crumbly as other reviewers have mentioned - not sure what I did differently. To remedy, I just kneaded the dough a bit more by hand (which I assume warmed the butter up a bit and allowed the dough to come together better. After the additional kneading, the dough was perfect and ready to be rolled and cut!

Really good and really easy! We cut them with a candy cane shaped cookie cutter and drizzled chocolate over them for the stripes.. they look great and taste even better.

OMG. These were a huge hit with my co-workers. Several of them asked for the recipe. Some advice for the people who didn't leave 5 stars. The dough will be crumbly, the heat of your hands will help the dough adhere better, so don't be afraid to play with it a bit. I re-rolled them a couple times in efforts to use all of the dough and it did not affect the texture a bit. 20 minutes and they were cooked to perfection (GE profile oven. I used white Ghirardelli chips and used demerera sugar for a to die for shortbread cookie! I will make these every year!

Cookies. were just ok. i really like shortbread cookies so i decided to make some myself...i used half a cup less flour then it called for because if i added more it would have been to crumbly...i would probably only cook them for 16-17 minutes because they seemed a little dark to me...they where edible but i wouldnt make them again

Very good flavor- found dough crumbly and hard to work with though and my butter was room temp. Used 60% dark chocolate (Ghiridelli chips and thought the chocolate was too overpowering- this coming from a chocolate lover! The shortbread on its own was better- maybe next time I'll use a lighter chocolate, or just eat them plain.

We will be making these cookies for my children's teachers as gifts for the holiday. I have made these cookies about 10 times since I first saw them made on your show. We LOVE these cookies. They are so delicious! Addicting! They aren't too sweet and with what ever you decide cover them with whether its icing or chocolate they are just perfect. I just use a lemon glaze icing only because with my children there seems to be only certain days that they like chocolate. Ina this recipe is wonderful and we just want to thank you for our favorite cookies!

I love this recipe the way it is but I just tweeked it for the holidays. I made the regular recipe for snowflakes but I wanted to make reindeer too so instead of brown food coloring I added 6 tablespoons of molasses to the butter when creaming, 3/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1 teaspoon of cinnammon, 1/2 teaspoon of allspice and an extra shot of vanilla. You will need another 1/4 cup of flour to soak up the extra mositure but they come out great! And they taste like Christmas!!!!
