These cookies are delicious! Remind me of those danish cookies you get in a tin. I made mine star-shaped, half dipped in chocolate, sprinkled with red and green sprinkles. Made 60 small stars. Beautiful Christmas gift.
I noticed that the dough was crumbly at first, esp. after chilling in the fridge. However, just keep working/"kneading" it on the board with some flour and eventually it comes together really well. I had to really back off the baking time, but it may be because of the star shaped cutter I used plus I have a gas oven (15 minutes was plenty. I'll be making these again!

I had a difficult time with the dough until I realized it was 3/4 of a POUND of butter and not 3/4 of a cup. once i added that extra butter, it came together quickly...

I had a very difficult time with the dough. It never came together. Very crumbly. Disappointed.. needed them for a company meal. Will try them again.

This is a very simple recipe to adapt for gluten-free cookies. With one third each of rice, almond and coconut flour, the cookies came out delicious. Of course, just rice flour instead of wheat would probably also work.

This is one of the best cookie recipes ever created. It is easy to roll out and never fails. I saw Ina serve it at a classy party on her Food Network show, and had to try it. I can't wait to make it with the chocolate coating, it will take this recipe over the top.

These were the best cookies ever! I made Christmas cookies with half and the other half I rolled into a log and made round cookies as suggested by others in the reviews. You can also roll the log in red or green colored sugar before you slice them to make a lovely round decorative cookie. These would be excellent iced as well.
