This has to be the best cocktail sauce I've ever had. The basic recipe is perfect for just about everyone. However, I like it a little spicy. Doubled up on the horseradish and it became the perfect cocktail sauce. I will never buy premade sauce again.

I didn't have chili sauce so I used taco sauce. It tastes delicious. Much better than store bought.

This recipe is all about the cocktail sauce! You will never buy pre-made cocktail sauce again. The chili sauce adds depth of flavor, the worchestershire and hot sauce add an additional tasty flavor layer, and the lemon brings out the fresh taste that compliments seafood. I live on the Gulf Coast and this is the only cocktail sauce I use with fresh seafood!

Really good! (and easy My husband and I even snack on this when we watch movies at home for date night. Super good! I also heavily upped the horseraddish, but you can alwasy add more if it's not enough for you. The sauce it also good later - I dip triscuts in it too. YUM YUM!

I loved this shrimp and cocktail sauce recipe. I love spicy so I added even more horseradish, very tasty and the shrimp comes out perfect by only cooking for 3 min. Love Ina's recipes.

Thanks, Ina. I already poached my shrimp but needed a sauce quickly. Did an online search and found this one. It took me about a minute to prepare and it was made from staples that I already had on hand. Family loved it. It is spicy but paired with a mild poached shrimp it was fantastic.

About the Siracha in the cocktail sauce, I've done the same with mixed results. I did not have Heinz Cocktail sauce either so I mixed the Siracha with Heinz Ketchup to make the same amount of sauce but did not add as much chili sauce as the recipe called for. My mother who is not a very spicy person found the sauce way to spicy, but my husband who eas siracha on everything thought it was excellent. So if you are serving for a crowd I'd suggest following Ina's recipe, but if you are a spicy person, go for it.

Otherwise, this is my goto way to prepare shrimp for anything that calls for cooked shrimp. So much more flavorful than boiled shrimp and I'd much rather wash a sheet pan than a big pot anyday!
