These were the most flavorful burgers I have ever had. I used the eighty twenty beef and it really made a difference. I will never make unseasoned burgers again.

I love Ina's recipes and this one was another hit! I've made them more than once for my family and shared the recipe with our daughter on the west coast - a hit there too! The combination of flavors is superb and the tips on how to keep the burgers juicy and not flat were much appreciated.

Best burger recipe I have ever had. But I cooked them indoors on grill pan. I think they tasted better than had I cooked them on barbeque but I will do the comparison.
The thyme and garlic give a nice hint of flavor without taking away from the beef and the olive oil keeps them nice and juicy. I took them off grill medium rare and let heat warm them from there.
Thanks Ina!!!!

Huge hit at a dinner party. I had to substitute dried thyme and I also added some of the shredded gruyere into the meat mixture. I made the patties a little bigger than 2 inches and they shrunk down while cooking, and fit perfectly into a Hawaiian bread roll (from costco. Cooking time in the directions was right on, and they turned out juicy.

Very tender and flavourful. Mine fell apart so will have to press together harder next time.

Up until now, I have never had a burger recipe I was really happy serving when we've had friends over for cookouts. We usually do baby back ribs for the adults and burgers/hotdogs for the kids. These were AWESOME! I followed the recipe exactly, with the exception of using Hawaiin Bread slider buns. Yummy! Probably the moistest/juiciest burger I've had. The slider size is perfect, too! A standard size burger is usually too big for me. Especially when there are so many delicious side items to choose from at BBQs. Delicious!
I have made this recipe and grilled have of the patties, freezing the rest for another time.
