The best burgers we have ever eaten. The arugula makes them a little spicy and the gruyere is the perfect topping.

Ina did it again! I took them to a cookout and everyone wanted the recipe. Don't change a thing, the gruyere and arugula are a must. I had to settle for slider buns but it did not change the score. They are just the right size. A must try and 5 stars.

Everybody rolled their eyes to the backs of their heads when they took the first bite! Enough said!

I couldn't find brioche rolls in Palm Springs (where I made the dish, but I substituted slider buns and basted both sides with melted butter.

I highly recommend using gruyere for the cheese and arugula for the green; both are unexpected and pack a surprising taste punch. Your diners will thank you.

I heart Ina Garten and I mostly prefer vegetarian dishes but this it the most perfect burger in the world. I made it on a grill pan on the stove and it couldn't be better. The combination of thyme and dijon work beautifully and the olive oil really keeps it juicy. My son calls it the man vs. food burger and it's the only one he finishes. Thank you Ina, you are the greatest! :

Ok, I'm giving the recipe 5 stars because: I only had dried thyme, 85/15 beef, and I cooked these in a pan on the stove - and they still turned out quite deliciously. The way I made them I'd probably give them 4 or 4.5 stars, but with fresh thyme, 80/20 beef, and a grill, I can only imagine how great they'd be. Didn't use gruyere or brioche, just served 'em up on some whole wheat store bought buns with sharp cheddar, mustard, onions, tomatoes, and jalapenos. Great burger recipe, highly recommend.

Just as described on Ina's tv show. A suggestion...the lettuce for sliders ... use butter lettuce. Similar to taking the center/heart out of an artichoke, do the same with heads of butter/bibb lettuce. Take out the small, inside center of each head of lettuce. The size is perfect for a sliders! I LOOOOOVE Ina! This is another top notch recipe. Who knew burgers could be so terrific? Usually when I make burgers they are bland and dry but not these ones. I didn't have fresh thyme or gruyere cheese so I subbed dried herbs de provence and swiss cheese and used fresh arugula from the garden. The flavors were perfect together. I can't wait to make these burgers for company!
