I never would have thought to pair OJ with sweet potatoes but it really works well. I tried this recipe and enjoyed it. It will definately become a part of my arsenal from now on.

I made this recipe for Christmas dinner and it was a hit with my guest. I wanted to try something different than the candied sweet potatoes dripping in sugar. I did make a few alterations. Given my father is diabetic, I substituted, 2 tbsp of Splenda brown sugar for the 1/4 cup of regular brown sugar this recipe calls for. I also added half of the salt and pepper that the recipe called for. But the orange juice gives this recipe a nice flavor that really brings out the sweet potatoes. The heavy cream gives them the creamy texture. Make sure you bake them because the potatoes start to carmelize and give the dish extra flavor. I will make this again for sure.

I am not a sweet potato fan, but this recipe was outstanding. I did not smash the potatoes. I baked them, chopped them and coated them with the cream mixture, which was warmed in the microwave to melt the butter, and then baked them again. I will use this recipe everytime I make sweet potatoes from now on. Thanks Ina!

I made this tonight, on the eve of Thanksgiving and I was thrilled with the results! I only put in half a real orange as I didn't want to drwon out the sweet potato flavor. This is awesome! It has a mild flavor yet totally delights the taste buds! I also made the Spinach Graten withcompliments the flavors in the Sweet Potatoes. This is a "must have" at every T-day and Christmas dinner!

This was such a big Thanksgiving hit. Everyone loved it. I added the apples on top which are part of her recipe in the "Party" book.

After trying this recipe I have no desire to make sweet potatoes any other way, except occasionally baking them. This recipe is extremely easy and very, very good. I'm requested to bring this to dinners all the time, and it has become by husband's and my relatives' favorite sweet potato dish. You'll never go back to making that awful sweet potato dish covered with marshmallows. You won't be sorry you tried this! Thanks, Ina!

I made this recipe for Thanksgiving dinner '06. I had read a previous review that said adjust the oj accordingly because there might be an overwhelming orange flavor .I took the advice and did. and I think they came out great. Had that hint of freshness from the oj but not too much. I'd say measure out what the recipe calls for but slowly add the oj and keep tasting.
