To Maker, salmon roe is salmon eggs. Recipe was quite good even without the salmon.

These are great for a small gathering. I served them with Champagne like Ina did and everyone commented how delicious they were. Barefoot Contessa recipes are the BEST. I have several in my recipe book.

Have been gun-shy of eggs with mayo/sour cream for decades since a bout of food poisoning with egg salad. I made these for Super Bowl and NEVER in my life had I eaten such YUMMY deviled eggs! My husband and mom just raved about them. My mom who is a gourmet cook says that she has never eaten such great deviled eggs. I had left-over filling and spread it on toast points; so good. Many thanks, Ina for yet another great recipe>>>>>>>>>Easy Too!

I got some compliments on these when I made them for a Super Bowl party yesterday...but, had 3 halves left over, so not sure if it was that big a hit.

I used whipped cream cheese because I had it on hand..DON'T do that...the filling was very runny and I'm thinking that was the cause.

I didn't use the salmon roe because it would have been wasted on that crowd; but, will use it next time. I sprinkled on some Piment d'Espelette (which is a French spice sort of like paprika but with a little more heat...it's also a brighter color, so it really stood out on the whiteish filling.

I may make this recipe again...but, what I'm really looking for is a taste like the deviled eggs sold by Dean & Deluca in Napa, CA.

I made these for the Super Bowl and everyone raved about them. Very easy to make and they were delicious! I used capers instead of roe, as that was what I had on hand.
