    As always any recipe from the Barefoot Contessa is great. I added a little bit more sour cream. They went quick and everyone loved them.

    I make these for every holiday and they are always the first thing to go. It is so easy and creamy but not too runny. Just perfect!

    Made these for the first time tonight and they were great. As with a few other Ina recipes, however, I cut the last 2 teaspoons of salt in half and was glad I did. Served these with a dollop of sour cream on top and they were excellent and so easy. Skipped the food mill and just whipped them with a handheld mixer.

    This has become my favorite recipe for mashed potatoes. Everyone in my family loves these. I always use Yukon Gold potatoes, as they make for a much creamier mashed potato. Try these... you will love them. :

    Potatoes, butter, and sour cream?? What's not to like?? I have been making mashed potatoes with butter and sour cream for years and years. A family recipe since I was a teenager. My Hungarian great aunt served them to me when I was young. Hungarians love sour cream. We never used milk, only butter and sour cream, maybe a bit of milk. We never measure, just guess at the amount. This recipe is delicious. Now I have a better idea of the amount of ingredients. If you are going to make mashed potatoes do it the delicious way or don't bother.

    These were great. We had a little too much liquid for the amount of potatoes we had, but we just used instant mashed potato flakes to thicken it a little bit. Oh, and salted butter is fine, just cut down the salt you add later.
