    This is the way I have been making string beans with steak for past few years, only difference is i always add a few cloves of minced garlic while sauteing the shallots! Add as many as you like!

    So easy and so tasty! Even my husband who is apparently allergic to anything green and veggie-like, loved it. Definitely worth 5 stars.

    Absolutely delicious and easy. I thinly sliced the shallots instead of large dicing them. Thought it was prettier.

    This has become my ONLY way to prepare green beans. I add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice just for that added spark of flavor and over the holidays I tossed in some cooked, chopped applewood-smoked bacon. EVERYONE loves this dish.

    I made this for Thanksgiving dinner for a large group of people, and it was very well received. I followed the directions almost exactly. I blanched the beans a little longer because I had double the amount of beans, but it still turned out great. Making this a few hours in advance and keeping it in a warming drawer also did not make the beans turn color. Great recipe.

    Made this last night, just as described. It was fabulous, and so easy. went great with Ina's chicken. I did add some pancetta while softening the shallots perfect. Once again way to go Ina.
