If you have a pressure cooker put some leaves on bottom of pan and arrange the cabbage rolls. Cook for 25 minutes and voila you have evenly and juicy stuffed cabbage rolls with an amazing sause. It was so quick in my pressure cooker.

Loved this recipe! I used exactly what the recipe called for and was delish! I was a little concerned about the raisins, because I had never used them with a meat or veg...they really add to the flavor, will be anxious to try more with raisins. I used the minute rice and it was perfect, no extra cooking time! I read some of the responses that used part pork sausage...but I used only lean beef, remember the fat that comes from the meat mixes in with the sauce in the pan. I place the rolls in a single layer, in a very old granite baking pan to cook them, which was a little larger than 9X13, then covered with foil. I used all the meat, made about 16 or 17 stuffed leaves. The only thing I would do differently is cut the core a little larger, or cut off the thick part of the leaf at the bottom. Can't wait for my family to tast this tomorrow!

It was actually better than I expected. I thought the raisins sounds weird but it totally worked. My family also enjoyed it. I used diced tomatoe instead of crushed tomatoes only because I already had them and didn't want to have to go to the store again. I liked the chunky texture of the sauce but the rice in the cabbage rolls on the top level didn't completely get cooked. I'd try this recipe again using the crushed tomatoes and maybe only cooking one level of cabbage rolls instead of two.

My grandmother used to make "piggies" that were fabulous. Saw this recipe and decided to try it. Both my husband and I really liked it. However, something seemed to be missing from the meat filling. Called my Mom and she suggested that her Mom may have used half ground beef and half ground pork. The pork may be just what was missing! Will try it the next time I make this nearly-perfect recipe. BTW, I added garlic to both the sauce and the meat filling. Yum!

Tasty and simple to do; i added some sausage to the filling for a stronger taste.....next time i think i'll make it in a baking dish in stead of a pot.....easier to get out after it's cooked.
