I made this pasta for a group of friends and it was delicious and so fresh for summer. The crushed red pepper adds just the right amount of heat and makes it much more interesting! Also, it was so easy and I like that most of it can be made ahead of time so I could enjoy my evening with friends. I only made a couple of small changes -- I used 2-3 cloves of garlic as opposed to 6. I was concerned that 6 would be too strong for most people. I added fresh mozzarella to the dish at the end, instead of parmesan. Everyone loved this dish!!

This dish is delicious and pretty easy to make! I sauteed some shrimp and served it with the pasta. It is definitely a recipe to save and make again!

This recipe was surprisingly delicious and even better the second day. It would be easy to cut the recipe in half, and I might like to try it next time with roasted cherry tomatoes as well. Thanks, Ina!

Easiest summer meal ever! Fix the tomato/basil/garlic mixture in the morning so it marinates all day at room temp. Mine sat for 5 hours. I bought my tomatoes too and I used grape tomatoes, it doesn't matter. Fresh and ripe are what you want. The flavors are traditional Italian add some crusty bread and you will be hard pressed to find a better light dinner.

I love Ina, and I love this recipe, however one thing that just bugs me is that she calls the cut of basil "julienne." It is not. Rolled up basil, cut into ribbons is a "chiffonade". Just had to clear that up. Love this recipe though!

Perfect light summer meal. Even if I have to buy tomatoes, I'll be making this regularly this summer. Clean up is a breeze. To prepare the tomato mixture all you need is a knife, cutting board, measuring spoons/cup, and a bowl to put it in. Then you use a pot to boil the pasta, a pasta serving spoon, and individual pasta bowls to serve it in. That's it. I love easy dishes that are loaded with this much flavor. I used garden tomatoes, so I guessed at amount. Hubby threw in an extra clove of garlic, just in case! I let it marinate for 5 hours. Everyone loved it! But everyone around you for the next day better love garlic too!

Amazing! We love pasta dishes, and summer pasta salads. We used grape tomatoes and halved the recipe. We just looked at each other and couldn't stop talking about it! Big Big flavors, and they married so well together. We did let sit for almost 5 hrs.

This was very tasty and flavorful.
I made it the night before and let it marinate overnight and half of the next day. The only changes I made were I used 8 or 9 regular tomatoes and chopped those up, instead of using cherry tomatoes and halving them. Doing that actually gave the mixture a lot of extra juice because I didn't take out the innards of the tomato.
Hubby and I loved this and will definitely make again. This will also go really well with/on crostini as a bruschetta type of thing.

Delicious!! I halved the recipe as I was the only one eating so I had plenty left over! I forgot to add a little pasta water at the end so it was a wee bit dry but wonderful all the same. Next time I will use even less tomoatoes...even though I only used 2 pints it was too much tomato for my taste...but I LOVED this pasta and will definately make it again!!
