I tried this for the first time. It was a big sucess with the family. This was so delicious, browned well on the outside, moist on the inside. I definately reccomend this. Be careful of the temperature near the end, at this temp it can heat up very fast!

This was a disaster of the first water. Absolutely horrible.
Dry and so overdone it was not edible as well as being too salty. Both were Prime Ribs 3 and 4 ribs each. Made a mess of the oven. My housekeeper thought I was going to burn down the house. Had to have all the reverse exhausts going full blast.
Ina you are usually right on most things and I love all you do but have this happen with two roasts 6 months apart and two different ovens shows something was wrong.
The meat was from Allen brothers and they never have a cut of bad meat.

Ina usually hits it out of the park and she has done it with this one. Its fabulous! I'd bet that anyone who complains about salt didn't us Kosher Salt.

I was looking for a good main dish for a small intimate Christmas party I was throwing tonight with my parents and brother. So I went to the "Christmas" section on this website and Ina's Rib Roast was the first thing that popped up and I was like hmmm...never made this before and not sure if I have ever even tried it but she made it look so easy in her video. So I went off to the grocery store and was sticker shocked when I saw how much it cost (even though they were on sale!!...The butcher asked if I was sure I needed 7-8 lbs and I said yes, that;'s what the recipe called for. So I followed the recipe to the T... Took it out of the fridge 2 hours before cooking it...made all the temp changes when I was supposed to..etc.. When it came time to carving, I was nervous if I over or under cooked it....but it looked good. Then every one took a piece and as soon as everyone took a bite there was an overwhelming "YUMMMMM!!!" in the room. It was soooo juicy and tender and succulent!!! JUST DIVINE!!!! Thank you so much Ina for such a great and EASY recipe!!!!!

I tried this recipe for my party. And it was Excellent.
This would be the easiest yet best roast beef recipe for me.
And I don't have to go to Flemings for roast beef anymore.

This recipe is well thought out. The meat is perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and perfectly pleasing to the eye as well! Then the sauce... it's amazing. You will want to have this sauce on hand, and serve it on every possible meat. Tangy, rich, and ideally complementary to the star. Ina clearly tests and perfects recipes and this is the pinnacle. Simple, satisfying, perfect!
