Great tomato stew and easy to make. The fennel is marvelous. I subbed DM basil/oregano diced tomatoes, green onions, and chicken base because I had them. Doubled the garlic and added two big squeezes of anchovy paste instead of salt because it seemed like the right thing to do. Grilled the fish on my Cuisinart Griddler since it was raining. Odd for Tucson but we appreciate it more than most. This was a simple and wonderful tasting dish. My wife was similarly pleased. A good thing. The tomato stew would be great as a any meat baked pasta dish as well.

Fantastic recipe...I used a swordfish steak big enough for 2 to 3 people and since it was thicker I grilled it in my grill pan for about 3 minutes on each side then finished it off in the oven. For a little bit of extra flavor I hit the pan with a little more wine while it was in the oven. I can't wait for summer so I can use my own fresh roasted tomatoes instead of canned!

Absolutely Delicious!
I am not usually not a huge swordfish fan mostly because it can sometimes be dry and bland. This preparation was fantastic. The fennel flavor and the herbs really shined through and jazzed up the tomato sauce. I will definitely make this again it was very good. A dinner hit!

You can never go wrong serving one of Ina's dishes to family & friends! This dish has been a hit every time I've made it!
I have done it w/ fennel and w/out...still good! And on a regular pan in the house! It's amazing every time....and elegant w/out the cost! I buy my swordfish frozen at Trader Joe's!
Enjoy!
