I love Ina, but these were not my favorite. I read the other reviews before I made them I cut back on the basil, and only added about 2 tbls of Olive oil, enough to make the mixture moist. So they weren't oily or soggy. The flavor was just blaa, they smell alot better then they taste.

Try this recipe when you have a little more experience with cooking. To know when you have a consistency and when to improvise is crucial when attempting a "medium"- rated recipe. I loved this. Very easy and self explanatory! Thanks again Ina!

If you go to the pepridge farm website under puff pastry you will find the right recipe for this. Just search pesto elephant ears. The ingredients are toned down and much simpler to follow. I added sundried tomatoes to the other one and they were very delicious. They even tell you how to make them ahead. Not sure who originated the recipe but the other one is better.

These are wonderful and relatively simple to make. I think it is very strange that so many people here are giving the recipe 2 or 3 stars based on the fact that either it doesn't say how much filling to put, or that there is too much filling. IT'S CALLED COMMON SENSE. Look at what you are making. Does it seem like there is too much filling? THEN DON"T PUT SO MUCH ON. And it's flat pastry for crying out loud. You spread it on the flat pastry, how hard is that?

Poor Ina, getting so much crap for other people's stupidity.

I don't know what happened, I followed the recipe closely, but they didn't turn out too well. They were greasy, fell apart way too easy, and were bland. Oh well, I'll try again!

These turned out way too salty and greasy. They were a major disappointment.

The flavor is wonderful but they were a little too oily. I will try them one more time.
