This was excellent!! For all of the years I've been making lasagna, my one complaint is that although it always tastes good, I never think the noodles are quite right. Doing them this way, soaking rather than cooking, is absolutely perfect!! I made the following changes: I used mostly lean ground turkey, but then added about 1/2 pound of italian sausage (mine was pork. I also added some homemade sauce (you could use jarred with the crushed tomatoes, added about 1/4 teaspoon of freshly grated nutmeg to the ricotta, (I fell short on ricotta so I also added about a cup of cottage cheese. To cut some fat, I only put mozzarella on top. I didn't miss it inside at all. I gave this lasagna to a friend in need and he just sent me a note saying this was "awesome" and of the many meals he's received, this was the best! It's a great recipe and the results are scrumptious!!

I felt this was delicious. My whole family liked it. It was very easy to make and this was my first time making lasagna so I needed it to be easy. I have eaten my share of lasagna though and didn't feel as if this one stood out to be outstaning. It could of just been me but either way it was still good.

I stopped making lasagna over the past years since I never had great success until NOW!!! I used the best ingredients and although it was more costly to make than others it was so worth it and makes a good amount. I prepared the sauce and turkey sausage mixture earlier in the day and than before baking I finished it with the remaining steps. I used canned San Marzano tomatoes, the fresh mozzarella and the goat cheese which alone came to $20. That was before the cost of the turkey sausage, and other items. I made garlic bread, an heirloom tomato salad, and green beans to round off the meal. Plenty left for another dinner and lunch for my husband to take to work.
Thank you Ina again for continuing to inspire and give me new takes on meals even after 30 years!

This was very good and easy to make. It took me a bit longer than I expected, but the end result was yummy! I followed the recipe to a 't', only adding 2 tbsp. Italian dressing into the sauce mixture. This gave it just a bit more kick and flavor, which I was looking for. I agree with others that you could add more sauce. The sauce is a bit on the low side given the size of the dish.

Quick, easy and tasty. Could really add any type of meat to make it work. Only thing is to make sure you add more sauce - goes quickly and 1/3 of the total sauce isn't enough to initially cover the bottom of the pan.

This was fabulous, and to make it healthier we used lean ground turkey that was italian seasoned. It is extremely flavorful and absolutely delicious!!

This was my first time every making lasagna and it came out perfect!! I used 2 28oz cans of crushed tomato's with basil 1 6oz of tomato paste with 1 6oz of water. Also I subed the sausage for extra lean ground turkey and subed the goat cheese for extra shredded mozzarella cheese, and used already minced garlic about 3 tbls of it and one extra tbls of parsley and one extra for the basil ... it was perfect!! It was enough to make 2 dishes so I gave one to my sister who also loved it.
