I was really surprised at how bland this meatloaf is... especially since its a 5star recipe! I did like that its made for so many servings though! I'm on the search to find a better one again

Best meatloaf ever! I have recently changed all my ground beef recipes to ground turkey to try and eat healthier. My family loved this sooooo much that I will never make a beef meatloaf again.

absolutely fantastic. My children (age 5 and 7 asked for SECONDS. They NEVER do that! This is the best meatloaf (beef, turkey or otherwise that I have ever had. Very easy to make. It is very "onion-y", so if there is anyone in your family that isn't a fan of onions, then this is not the meatloaf for you....or cut it down to one onion...or leave them out....or maybe mince them really, really fine??

No joke this is the best meatloaf I have ever eaten. No one will know or care that it is turkey because it is so moist and juicy. My husband requests this meatloaf once a week and I cut the recipe down to about one third (to accommodate one ground turkey package since its just the two of us. I ad a little bit of extra seasoning and some diced carrots to the onion mixture. The secret is to use a thermometer to keep it from overcooking and drying out.

I've been cooking this for years now. I don't even like meatloaf, but the key is the onion mixture cooked ahead. Yummy!

WOW!!! I have NEVER made a meatloaf before, let alone a turkey meatloaf. This is so good! So moist (I did use the pan of water underneath, and so delicious. I did not use all 5lbs. of turkey, but modified the recipe as needed. Really good. Mixed cheese with the meat. Used a vodka cream sauce on top instead of the ketchup. Really great! Will make again. Also, made with In'a parmesan smashed potatoes, SO GOOOOD.

Great recipe...I am not sure why some say it is bland. It was great, flavorful, and moist with the water pan underneath it. I didn't have plain bread crumbs so I used italian crumbs and it came out fabulous. A great addition to my recipe binder and a healthy alternative to the traditional meatloaf. The only thing I can't imagine is making a 5 pound one! I had to cut the recipe down to make a 1 pound recipe.

I liked the turkey meatloaf a lot. I added a full tsp of dried thyme and a Tbs of tomato paste. Also added honey and cumin to the ketchup for the glaze, alla Alton Brown. It was tasty and delicious, and I don't usually care for ground turkey. Next time I will scale the quantities down to a more manageable size for our family.

This is very good. I can't imagine how huge a 5 lb meatloaf would be; I used one package (1.25 lb of regular ground lean turkey. After reading a couple of reviews that indicated the recipe may be bland as-is, I tweaked it a bit. (Past experience has proved that ground lean turkey sometimes needs some extra love to turn out tasty... I also mixed in a 1/2 pound of ground Italian turkey sausage. I didn't have any thyme so I used a combination of dried savory seasoning and dried sage (probably 1 tsp of each... For the chicken stock I used 2 packets of the Trader Joe's chicken stock in 3/4 C. water. Also, I topped the entire loaf with McCormick's Montreal Steak seasoning. (That stuff is great on pretty much all meats. It turned out to be a very special dish. I am thrilled to have a new recipe for healthy comfort food!
