I have to say this was pretty bland. There would have to be too many adaptations to give this a better rating. Too bad since I usually like Ina's recipes.

Absolutely the best, and I have tried quite a few recipes! I too cut the recipe in half with just a few modifications. I substituted fresh ground Smoked Black Pepper instead of the regular, the full 1 teaspoon of fresh Thyme, 4 lrg cloves of garlic (pressed, and two large eggs. Omitted the tray of water during cooking and found the meatloaf to be very moist. For the sandwiches, I used rustic ciabatta rolls - toasted, mayo, ketchup, sliced provolone, baby romaine lettuce, and tomatoes. Heated the sliced meatloaf in the micro for a minute and half so it was warm. Delish! Kudos to our lovely Barefoot Contessa for such a fabulous recipe!

Delicious! I've been making meatloaf for my husband for over 20 years. He's never been a big fan. He said this was, by far, the best meatloaf that he's ever eaten!

Second time trying this recipe and it worked much better than the first. I halved the seasoning ingredients but used less than half of turkey; 20 ounces of turkey (pkg size -- seems like it was much more flavorful and wasn't overbearing even w/ disparity ratio between seasoning/turkey . The first time I adjusted the seasoning ingredients accordingly for 20 ounces of turkey and it was so bland. This time too, however, I put a couple slices of bacon on the top of the loaf before cooking and think it added a nice taste element. Great cold the next day too.

Simply the best Turkey Meatloaf recipe I've made. I cut the recipe in half, but used two eggs. It came out perfectly. Looking forward to a Turkey Meatloaf Sandwich tomorrow for lunch.

I'm a little taken aback by the reviewers who voted this 1 star just because the recipe is a little bland. First of all, it's meatloaf which isn't exactly the most exciting dinner in town. Second of all, recipes are made to be altered - kick it up a notch on your plate and add some hot sauce. I thought the meat turned out beautifully. I didn't have tomato paste so used a marinara inside the meat. It came out tasty and we really loved it...we even had leftovers for the week and I scaled it down to 3 pounds of turkey. I like the idea of the ketchup on top which kept it nice and moist and prevented cracking. I will make again but maybe in the mini loaf pans as someone suggested.

I was excited to try this recipe, but it turned out bland for me. Simply not enough flavor despite the fact that I avoided using the ground turkey breast, and went for dark meat instead. I'm not sure I'd try it again, but for someone trying it for the first time be mindful of seasoning and maybe use your experience to kick it up a notch.

My Family loves this MeatLoaf. My 7 year old son is a very picky eater and he loves it. Some people though it was bland, you could always add a little garlic to your liking. I thought 5lbs. of meat was a little much for my family of 5 so I just scaled down the recipe to our needs. If I was having a dinner party for 8 adults I would follow that serving. Also you can freeze a loaf, or have cold meat loaf sandwhiches for lunch. This meatloaf is light and delicious! I have made it several times and it always comes out great.

I like to make individual portions in muffin tins to speed up cooking time and freeze leftovers in a ziplock bag. And I substitute rolled oats for breadcrumbs! It's really good!
