way to much fuss!!!! I liked it but prefer the regular we all grew up with. I love all her shows and the recipies I tried. I just love fast comfort food but would make again for a special luncheon.

This a really great scaled-up version of grilled cheese...ate it with roasted tomato/basil soup because one cannot each grilled cheese without tomato soup. I omitted the salt, however, because I am on salt-restricted diet and I figured the mayo, salted butter, bacon & both cheeses were salt enough for my palette--I think it was just as good as original recipe. BTW, I love Ina because she is sooooo in love with Jeffrey after 35??? years of marriage and she just makes the recipes look so simple yet elegant.

Hard to beat a plain grilled cheese sandwich but if anyone can, it's Ina! Really good!! I had baby Swiss on hand instead of Gruyere and left out the bacon since we had it with some chili. Put just a pinch of salt in the sauce and used unsalted butter on the bread and it was perfect. I used the sauce sparingly but the touch of mustard really kicks it up! DELISH! Can't wait to try it with the bacon.

This recipe is in Ina's "How Easy is That?" cookbook, so I made it last year. It's delicious! A fancy version of a grilled cheese with ingredients you might normally have on hand. I served it with sliced apples which was a delicious meal. For the reviewer who thought it was too salty, I disagree....the choice/brand of bacon could be the reason here. I also think unsalted butter might be a good choice if you are worried about saltiness. Many of Ina's recipes include more salt than some people like, so I have learned to always start with less salt than called for and add more if needed. But across the board Ina's recipes are without fail the best!!

WOW!! I am a salt LOVER and I could barely finish half a sandwich. With the salty bacon, and the parmesan cheese, there is WAY too much salt in this. The flavors were really good, so I'll make it again with half the amount or no salt.

Excellent! We pickled some red onion (super easy and added that in, along with goat cheese. This recipe is so easy to change up the cheese and other ingredients. We made Rachel Ray's roasted tomato and red pepper soup with this, too.
