These pot pies are FABULOUS!!! The only thing I left out was the fennel. I'm not a fan. The potates and asparagus really make this pot pie "POP"! Very filling. I also used vegetable broth and added a bay leaf.
This would be a great and filling dish for a pot luck, luncheon or sunday supper. Outstanding recipie...

My husband loved it. The crust was flakey. The sauce was flavorful and savory. Quick to put together with great results.

Many steps but well worth it.

Loved this! Didn't have enough time, so I made the top with store bought puff pastry and it was great!

I have tried to make pot-pies before, but they just turned out so-so. These were the first I've made that tasted like something in a resturant. The sauce is amazing and the pastry could not be easier. I did not use fennel and also omitted the Pernod, adding some garlic and 3 bay leaves in their place. Excellent stuff.

I thought it would taste better. The crust was good, but too much liquorice flavor with the fennel and the Pernod

I have not made this Pot Pie yet, but everyone seems to really flip over it. I am nervous about the pastry. Was Ina's recipe for the crust as good as the filling?
Thanks,
Kate

THE POT PIE SOUNDS DELICIOUS. THE CRUST I THINK WILL BE AMAZING. CAN'T WAIT TO MAKE IT.
