I thought it was Great! I didn't add the last of the wine since it was really good without it. Even the kids liked it. No problems with the salt for us

Made this last night. I cut the salt and pepper measurements by half and added a tsp of sugar. I also completely eliminated the 1/4 cup of wine at the end. I must say this recipe was delicious! My normally picky family had multiple servings and my husband who hates everything I cook loved it. YEA. The fact that the recipe doesn't call for anything I don't normally have in my fridge or pantry was a bonus. Also the recipe was quick and easy. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation. Thanks Ina.

The meal turned out great. My family likes it.I was reading the reviews before I made it and what was said about the wine is correct.I only used one cup of wine for a larger portion (3lbs ground beefand you could still taste itbut was not overpowering. So if you use more it will definetly be too much but it also depends on what wine you use.I used a merlot.I also used crushed tomatoes with basil instead of basil leaves and it all turned out great. It is good for a quick meal. Will be added to my book.

I omitted the last bit of wine at the end, and reduced the salt slightly in the pasta water as well as the sauce. It turned out fabulous!

I think this is a great dish... some people have criticized it's saltiness - I think the easiest thing you can do is go easy on the salt boiling the pasta (the recipe calls for a tablespoon. Parmesan is also giving you the salty taste, so less would help if that is a concern to you. Also, make sure the wine is in fact really dry (Bourgogne or Chianti as that will also greatly influence the taste. All this being said, I thought it was a wonderful dish and I followed the directions as specified- very flavorful and rich. I would highly recommend this dish, and will make it again.

This is my favorite pasta dish! I make it whenever I have ground meat on hand. I have made it with ground turkey and regular 93/7 ground beef and it always comes out amazing with whatever red wine i have on hand!! I have never measured salt for a dish - always salt to taste!! This is not baking!

I'm a little partial to Ina's recipes and quite the wine lover, but this sauce got more rave reviews than some I spent 5 - 6 hours cooking! Next time I may add a touch more wine to my glass and omit it from the pan - otherwise perfection. I used a red zin for a nice spice note.

This is a great sauce to make when you don't have a lot of time. It was a little spicy for the kids, but my husband and I loved it! I followed the recipe exactly and it is full of flavor and very filling! Definitely agree that you need to use a wine that you would drink with this recipe.

Great sauce! I followed the recipe exactly and added a diced onion to the ground sirloin. I've learned to go easy on the salt with Ina's recipes - so I cut it to two teaspoons. Absolutely delicious. Fast, easy, hearty and did I say fast? Be sure to use a good wine - something you would drink/serve at dinner. My orecchiette kind of stuck together in little stacks but otherwise I thought it was great. Thanks Ina!

The red wine was overpowering for my liking. I agree with some of the other cooks, too bland.
