This soup was a big hit for my family tonight! I substituted whole milk for the half and half and used vegetable broth instead. Also, I made the croutons with 1 tsp of Herbs de Provence which made the house smell like Thanksgiving and paired nicely with the soup!

I went by the recipe; however, my soup had no taste. I even tried adding cheese, more salt, and cinnamon. Perhaps it is my taste buds. I normally love Ina's recipes.

I saw Ina make this soup and it looked like something my family would enjoy on a cool winter afternoon. I was right. It was easy to make and I followed Ina's directions to the letter. Great soup. Thanks Ina.

Perfect on a cool fall afternoon! I didn't have half and half so I used evaportated milk. I also used an emersion blender since I didn't want to mess with the food mill. Topped with a dollop of creme fraiche and a scant pinch of fleur de sel makes all the flavor difference. Easy, healthy and filling, you can't ask for more than that. Ina does it again...

I made this tonight, after seeing Ina do it today on her show. I had everything on hand except the half & half so I used 3/4 cup of plain Greek yogurt instead. I also added about a tsp. of cumin, a couple tsps. of garam masala and some minced garlic. We all loved it and my kids devoured it and had seconds! BTW, I just used my potato masher to mash the squash and the texture was great. Thank you, Ina, for a new recipe!
