This dish is awesome!! Made it for company and everyone left wanting the recipe. Made it 1/2 Zucchini & 1/2 yellow squash. Add the squash later as it cooks more quickly than the zucchini, but the yellow and green together add more color and the squash is a little sweeter than the zucchini. This is my go to vegetable for all occasions LOVE IT!!

This dish rocks. Make it in the summer when you don't know what to do with all of those zucchinis everyone gives you.

Every holiday, I am requested to make this dish. It is really good and basically after the original holiday meal, the dish is gone.

This was great! All of the flavors work wonderfully together. We had it as a main dish one evening and it was satisfying. Another time we made it using diced bread on top (3 slices as in Ina's Croque Monsieur Mac n Cheese recipe and it was even more delicious, added a great texture on top. YUM!!!!

I adore this recipe. I have used swiss and parm as toppings. I have had to use condensed milk because I was out of cream and milk, and it was still delicious. I could eat the whole gratin, alone. Sad, but true!

I modified this recipe somewhat after reading the previous reviews. Cut down on the salt, upped the flour to 3 Tb. ( used Pamela's wheat free gluten free.

I decided to cook the onions and zucchini in a separate deep skillet. Another saucepan I created the white sauce with some butter, the flour and 1 cup + milk. Added the nutmeg there + some pepper.

Poured the vegetable mix into a buttered casserole making sure not to add the juice because prior reviews said the casserole was runny. Added the creamy milk mix ontop and mixed in. Spread crumbs and used fontina cheese grated.

    Thumbs up!

This Zucchini Gratin graced our holiday table--it was so delicious and the presentation just beautiful. I reduced the yellow onions from 3 to 2 and used panko to top. This is a winner!

This is a great recipe! I'm making it again tomorrow night for company. To make it a less costly dish, I used Publix Italian Blend shredded cheese. And I took the suggestions of another reviewer to use Panko as I thought I'd like the extra crunch. I'm sure regular breadcrumbs would also be delicious. I know when I try one of Ina's recipes, I'm in for a treat. Thank you Ina!
