I made this for a dinner party on Saturday night, and it was THE popular dish of the evening. Based on other reviewer comments, I made a couple of alterations to the recipe - - I sauteed some sliced mushrooms along with the onions, and I used Parmesan cheese rather than Gruyere (for budgetary reasons. It was very convenient to be able to put this dish together in advance and then just put it in the oven at the last minute. I will definitely serve this again. Thanks Ina!

This recipe was wonderful! I used shredded white cheddar cheese since that is what I had on hand and I was pleasantly surprised. Another great recipe Ina! Thank you!!! You are still my favorite Food TV show host! Keep it coming!!

I have now served this dish 5 times. Every ramekin was empty. The nutmeg with the pepper really gives this dish the depth and Gruyere is a must.

Anyone could make this and be a hit at their dinner table.

I tried this as well, and it was not only simple and easy to make; it was very delicious!! It's great for those of us that have gardens, cause there's always so many zucchini... (well, you can only make so much bread....It's a great new way to use up some of them!! I am passing this recipe on to the girls at work. Great job, Ina!!

This was rich and decadent, but worth it! I used half zucchini and half yellow squash and substituted Panko for the bread crumbs. Next time, I'll use less butter (it was a bit greasy and add more topping - the crunch it gave was AMAZING.

So easy to make. A great way to use zucchini that is so abundant in the summer. All of the ingredients are pantry staples. I just change the cheese to whatever I have available. Even my husband who is not a big vegetable fan liked this.

Who thinks of zucchini as comfort food? I do, now. Can't stop eating it. Only thing is next time I'll go a little easy on the pepper. Good job, Ina. mmm...
