One of my favorite side dishes. The taste is so good, different and also fresh and interesting. I substitue coucous and it's every bit as great. Its a perfect summer side with just about anything...I LOVE IT!!

I added toasted sliced almonds, increased orange juice & zest, rice vinegar, and parsley. Have used water chestnuts as a substitute (if you don't have the cucumber. Made this recipe several times!

I made this tonight to go with grilled steak. It was a nice change from the traditional potato side dish. It made quite a lot so I thought we would have plenty of left overs but due to seconds and thirds, I think I will need to make it again.

I have never cooked or eaten Quinoa before. I used some of the ideas of other readers to change up the recipe a little. I used cilantro instead of parsley, dried cranberries instead of raisins, and I added about half a cup of chopped walnuts. My mother isn't keen on trying new things, but I sent her plate to her with fingers crossed. She said I don't know what this is but I like it and cleaned her plate! Great recipe, and we will be making it again..

This salad was really good. It was the first time that I had used Quinoa. I did change one thing cause I don't like rasins in my food I added dried cranberries which also gave it some pretty color. Thanks

This is so delightfully different and light-feeling, yet filling. One word of caution, though: be careful not to overcook the quinoa, or you end up with something more the consistency of porridge, which is not so pleasant.
A hit for potlucks!

This recipe made a lot of salad! My first suggestion is to use more cucumber or less quinoa. Too much quinoa and it absorbs all of the good stuff! Also plan on making additional dressing (oil, vinegar and juice if you will have leftovers as the quinoa soaks up the liquid and it is drier. I added the zest of the orange too. Yummy stuff!

Than you Ingrid for this great recipe. I had always had quinoa very plain or in soup! The salad is fantastic. I did not change a thing, although next time I will try it with dry cranberries, as suggested in other reviews. Just because I love cranberries. Keep up the good work.

I had never cooked with quinoa and I really liked this. I don't like raisins in my food so I omitted them but it turned out yummy.
