I loved the soup. It has been years since I have had this soup. It is a great comfort dish for me.

This was great! I used 8 c. chicken broth, added browned chorizo and cooked chicken at the end, doubled the cumin, and threw in a teaspoon of super hot sauce. Next time I'll add more plantains. This recipe is a keeper!

In Cuba (at least the part that I'm from, we use fried plantain (make into chips. We do not use carrot, celery or (yuk cilantro. We used to make it with chicken or beef stock, used onion, bell pepper, garlick, the olive oil and water with the chicken or flank seak. Satl and pepper to taste. I don't like the taste when we've used the raw plantain and boiled them in the soup.

I saw Ingrid make this on her "Comfort Foods" show. It looked easy, sounded like it would taste delicious, and it was. My husband was in love with the soup. This is definitely something I would make again and make for special guests.

I liked this soup and I will make it again. However, there is something missing...not enough flavor. Next time, I will experiment with more spices to make it as tasty as it looks.

My roommate made this today and it was very nice. The only thing I feel it could use is a small bit of spice. Maybe some fresh jalape?o.. VERY Nice soup!!

I guess I just don't like plantains. I've tried them other ways & thought I might like this because I love cilantro & all the other ingredients in this soup I like but the plantain flavor just wasn't for me.
