I tried this recipe because I love plantains. I've never had them green.
I also made this with chorizo so that my husband would eat it. It was wonderful. What a nice combination of flavors.

Muchas gracias for this excellent soup. My husband is Colombian and hasn't had this soup since he was a kid. He loved it. I never had or heard of this before but I loved it as well. This was delicious and simple the flavors were fantastic together. The one thing I did different was add chorizo to the soup. My husband has to have meat in every meal which worked out great because if you don't want to make the little burgers you can have the soup alone with some crusty bread.
Thanks for this excellent recipe keep them coming.

It reminded me of Mulligatawny soup with plantants instead of lentils.
I used fresh lemons & a little cayenne pepper. It was delicous

This is sooo easy. Full of flavor. If you use 2 plantains, you will need extra lliquid as the starch makes it very thick. Since there is no cream in this, I will attempt to freeze.

I thought this sounded unique and low fat, so I gave it a shot. I loved it! The flavors mesh well together and I loved the cilantro in it. I will be keeping this recipe.

I love soups and had never heard of "Plantain Soup" so when I saw this I had to try it. I cooked it the same day I saw it and it was soooo gooood. We are a latino family and familiar with the green plantain taste; therefore this was not a new introduction for us. I will be making this a lot during those cold winter days. Thank you chica.
