I had to adjust this recipe to make it taste this great. Apparently there were some mistakes in the online recipe?
It was bland when I made it as directed so - I increased all the dressing ingredients (except for the oil, cloves & paprika and I doubled the onion & pickles and I now make this salad regularly. The sweet pickles are a pleasant surprise in this recipe. It is crunchy, sweet & sour, refreshing & healthy.
I am surprised at some of complaining in the other reviews about the sweet pickles. Authentically Latin or not - I do not know but good is good.
Also it was easy to tell after the first time I made it that there was an error in the amount of beans listed in the recipe (too many beans for the amount of dressing.

Sorry, I've not made this yet but had to give it 5 stars to counter all the nastiness. Yes the woman can be annoying, but she's not THAT bad! Anyway, I want to point out several inaccuracies in the recipe that might be affecting its success(or lack thereof. On the show, she uses ONE can of beans (not two, 2 medium tomatoes, seeded (not one large--I know that's not much of a difference, but still, 2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce (not 1 tsp, and 1 TBSP sugar (not 1 tsp

I tried this as written except I swapped the amounts of the oil and vinegar since I like mine more vinegary. This is so lite, crisp and refreshing. I loved the way the flavors popped. This will something I bring to potlucks that everyone will love.

Almost gave this a five star rating. It is a wonderful recipe. No complaints. Plan to fix it again today.

Yes - I added feta to this and had my boyfriend try it with and without. The Feta cuts back the sweetness and blends well together. If you don't have sweet pickles, do not use dill as someone else wrote (yuk. Any way I'd give this 3 stars except for my change by adding feta. Nice color and side dish to something other then the ceviche.

I really liked this salad. The dressing is outstanding. The only thing I might do differently next time is to add less beans. Two cans is a little too much. Overall, though, this is a great salad and very filling

I also had my doubts about the sweet pickles and beans, but put them in anyway. I'm glad I did because it was very good. Everyone at the family BBQ also loved the salad. Ingrid, I love your perky personality and wish you lots of luck with your new show.

Another Ingrid recipe I tried and liked, not getting all the nastiness here. Good for a picnic since it can sit out, I too liked the hint of clove.

When I first saw this recipe, with kidney beans and pickles together, I thought yuck. But it works! I think the combination of the sweet pickles and apple cider vinegar is what works, substitutions would be detrimental to this recipe. Letting it sit brings out the hint of cloves but they aren't overpowering.

Sweet pickles?? No....use dill. I have made a kidney bean salad using chopped dill pickles for years. Add chopped tomatoes, chopped shallots, and a vinagrette using red wine vinegar. This sweet pickle recipe is a disaster.

And how do you get Latin out of this recipe?? This poor girl is trying too hard, and comes across as terribly annoying. Button your shirt, pull back your hair, and get serious!! This is a cooking show, for crying out loud. IMO, if you want Latin cooking, you need two words: Daisy Martinez.
