I really enjoyed making this dish. All family members were participants some getting the ingredients and others helping cooking. We brought this delicious soup to perfection and then later, we were sitting around the table looking our bowls with magnificent colors given by all ingredients, and then we were closing our eyes to enjoy smell of the steam coming out the soup. Everyone was concentrated eating the soup and then we started saying how good it was!! We got our red cheeks and our faces were sweating. We talked and laughed, and we all traveled back to places and time to remember our great cooks in our family. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe.

Try removing the skin from the chicken and that will definitely help. I saw the show a few weeks ago and have thought about the episodes and recipes ever since! So, I finally figured out whose show it was (don't watch much TV and found the recipe tonight and cannot wait. I'll post a review after I have tried it and will be removing the chicken skin (hate the fat. Good luck!

My husband loved this recipe. The only thing he asked to do differently is to use chicken drumsticks instead of the thighs because it was too much food and the drumsticks are smaller.

I love Ingrid's recipes and i always look at the reviews for helpfull information. Tania from Miami should be ashamed that as a COLOMBIAN she does not even know how to spell her country's name and as a Miamimian also missed the boat on a great restaurant called Rocca, (Ingrid's restaurant, touted the best by Robin Leach's "Life Styles of the Rich and Famous" amongst many other accolades. I dined at it many times! If you don't like Ingrid and the show stop watching it and writing reviews that are misleading.
You oviously dont know how to spell your country's name so i doubt you know any of it's food and secondly you don't even know anything of your local culinary scene.
Find another place to vent or go get enlightened to get rid of all that hate and anger.
    Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

i really don't understand why people are "pmsing" over ingrid. she is fun.
so, some of the food is different. can't we eat something besides fried chicken, grits and bubba's soup and sweet potato whatever? i didn't like oysters the first time either (or sex the first time for that matter

the way to get rid of the "grease" is to chill the soup and skim any grease off the top. if there is any grease left, float a few lettuce leafs on the top and they will absorb it.
    keep an open mind.

it is only food not a national emergency. i mean if you could see what is left in the kitchen at most restaurants, you would not eat there.

I didn't like the flavors in this combination. Also, the pumpkin & plantains were mushy for me. Even though I tried to skim the foam off, it was too greasy. I spent a lot of money for a nasty dish!! Yuck!!

I LIVE IN MIAMI, AND SHE DOES NOT HAVE A TOP RATED RESTURANT HERE!!!! ALSO AS A COLUMBIAN I AM FAMILAR WITH GOOD COLUMBIAN COMFORT FOODS, THIS IS NOT EVEN CLOSE. THE FLAVORS ARE OFF AND WAY TO GREASY.
