very tasty... I think the trick to get them to crisp up is to cut them much thinner.. Avocado dip is a perfect balance.. By mistake I also added some cumin, which made them even smokier...

I have made this many times since discovering this recipe. The flavors are not overpowering, just a sumptuous accompanient to most of your main meat dishes. You won't be disappointed!

I read all the previous reviews about the fries not being crispy enough. You know what - it doesn't matter!!! Let's face it - baked fried are not going the same as deep-fried! The incredible seasoning of the fries along with the incredible avocada dip is one of the best recipes I have found on this site. Thank you Ingrid!

Following the directions perfectly, the fries came out both mushy and charred. They still tasted good, but I wish I could figure out how to get them crispy without having to resort to deep-frying. The dip was a HUGE success and tasted great, I'd definitely reccomend doubling the recipe. It was great with tamales, quesadillas, and as a chip dip. It's like a zestier guacamole...delicious!! The fries are also great with the dip; the combo of the two is a great way to win over sweet potato haters.

I made these fries last night, and they were great with the seasoning. I mixed in one regular potato as well just for some different flavor.

The dip though...was so great! Everyone loved it and are now brainstorming for other uses for it. My mother is making herself a taco salad today and is using it as the dressing! Definitely a delicious dip!

The fries were delicious...I couldn't stop eating them! However I will cut them much thinner next time I make them.
The sauce on the other would have been delicious If I wouldn't have used an entire jalepeno.
O and be careful when cutting up a jalepeno..wear gloves! My hands were literally on fire for over 5 hours from the jalepeno..it ruined my night : (

Frankly, I am stunned at how great these are. Easy.. I sliced the potatoes really thinly, after reading about the trouble w/getting them crispy. I don't even like sweet potatoes, but made this in order to use up two I found in the crisper drawer. Some of the skinniest ones came out crispy, most have crispy edges. I don't know how you're going to get crispier without actually frying. I can't stop eating them. I am out of avocados, so I served them with a peach-mango salsa. OUTSTANDING! I prefer these over some that I tasted at a halloween party at a restaurant, that were deep-fried, served w/honey as a dip.

The avocado dip was very very tasty with the fries and was a great chip dip as well. I didn't have scallions, so I substituted a little red onion instead. I was a little worried that it would be too hot with the jalepeno, but it gave just the right amount of heat in the background without overpowering. I will definitely make this again!

I didn't try the Sweet Potato Fries, but the Avocado Dip was fantastic!! I added one more Avo to make it a little thicker and more avocado-y. It was perfect with baked pita chips, on a hamburger or with fresh veggies.
