Ingredients

  • 2 seedless oranges, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Campari
  • 1 bottle sparkling dry white wine or bubbly Prosecco
  • Ice cubes

Directions

Add the oranges and lemons to a large glass pitcher. Pour in the Campari and muddle with a large wooden spoon to release the fruit juices. Fill the pitcher with a bottle of chilled sparkling wine and pour over chilled glasses filled with ice.

    If you're the type that likes sugary sweet sangria, then this recipe is not for you. I found this drink to be very refreshing. There were mixed reviews on it, but when all was said and GONE, I wished I had bought enough to double the batch. Just remember that Campari tastes a lot like orange peel or even Angostura bitters. Not recommend for a sweet tooth.

    We are lovers of Campari and Negronis and my husband is getting ready to make this now. This is not a sangria recipe that I would recommened to people who have never had Campari before. It is a bitter liquer and I already know that we'll need to make this sweeter because of enjoyment of regular sangria on the sweet side. We'll taste and add sugar syrup as needed (and probably add an apple too.

    Well I have never tried Campari, but it tasted like some sort of tart fruit mixed with ashes from an ash tray. Its was not good. Had to mix in honey to get it down. If you do like Campari, this is prob. the drink for you.
