I have made this recipe twice so far. It came out great both times, but the first batch didn't taste like Jack Stacks. The second time I pulsed the brisket in the food processor and it made a huge difference. Both times I used Jack Daniels packaged brisket and it came out great!

We lived in Kansas City for seven years and these beans are to die for. This recipe is outstanding and so easy. DO drain the pork and beans first; the beans have a nice thick consistency and the extra liquid would only dilute the flavor. I divided the recipe in half since there's only two of us. I made a beef brisket at the same time and since it's only 20 minutes, I cut off a small piece of brisket for the bean recipe. I used Kansas City barbeque sauce from Wegman's (their own brand. Kraft Original Thick & Spicy is available everywhere and tastes the same. I'd recommend either of these for excellent results. Easy to divide in half or double for more servings. It really tastes like the beans were slow simmered all day. This is definitely one to try; would be great for a potluck, party or picnic.

I grew up eating these beans when I lived in KC. They are always requested everytime we have a cookout or picnic. They are fabulous!!!

Not exactly the same recipe that you will get at Jack Stack's, but pretty darn close.

These BBQ beans are absolutely the best beans I have ever eaten. They can be, and have been, a complete meal for me because they have a substantial amount of BBQ meat in the recipe.

Please don't compare these beans with any ordinary baked beans which don't hold a candle to Jack's Stack's BBQ Beans. If you are in or near the Kansas City area you must stop by a Fiorella's Jack Stack BBQ to taste and enjoy these exceptional beans.

Add Catsup, Mustard, Cinnamon, Low Sodium Bacon, one half strip broken in small pieces.A Tbls. or 2 of Brown Sugar. A couple of pinches of Pepper, fine ground. This, I will put up against Any Ready Made Recipe in this Category

I've had the real thing in Kansas City and the knock off at Hickory Pit in Lee's Summit and I have to say, this recipe is pretty much right on. IF I had their amazing brisket, it would have been better, but since I don't live there anymore, I had to make do with what I could get.. LOVE LOVE LOVE these beans. Do use a good gulaity bean and drain off the nasty sauce that they're packed in. KC Masterpiece is also a good subsitute or get the real thing at their website.
