First of all I'd like to say and anyone correct me if I'm wrong but is Jamie without a doubt the best cook on TV??? I've seen him and I'm sure you have as well take lemons' salt & peper, olive oil and onion out in the woods... pick something out of the woods and in 10 minutes have a dish cooked that would make most TV chefs shudder...I've tried many of his recipes and I've loved them all...

OMG....My step son calls food shows the "new Porn" and Jamie is my FAVORITE PRORN STAR!!!!

This is absolutely amazing and if you want to take it over the top add a pound of mixed gourmet mushrooms while you sautee the pancetta and anchovies and brown them up really well before you add the savoy cabbage

    TRUELY AMAZING

This soup is Amazing. Flavor beyond parallel. That said, the technical aspects of this recipe were too much for me so I skipped the bready layering process and added some chunky potatoes for starch. Winter will never be as bleak again! Thanks Jaime 'my boyfriend' Oliver!

My boyfriend has been bugging me to make cabbage soup for the longest time! I came across this recipe in Jamie's cookbook and knew I had to try it. I usually do not go step-by-step with recipes but didn't want to mess this one up! I stuck to the recipe accept I altered the garlic/bread by toasting the bread in chopped garlic butter in an iron skillet. It turned out AMAZING!!!!! It was not difficult to make and now a favorite dish of both of ours! Thanks Jamie!

OMG Jamie, you came up with another winner for my fav's. My husband and I are so very happy with this feel good winter soup. I tweeked it only to add 3 cloves of garlic to the pacetta and anchovies, we loved it and can't wait for the next delishous pot of soup!

This was by far the best cabbage soup I have ever tasted....it is different, from the typical cabbage soup, and I think has much more flavor....used more Kale than called for..the texture was thick and heavenly....will be making this again and again

I tried to make only half of this recipe but it was still too much for two people. You really can't have too much of it so I think that if I make it again, I would serve for a larger group as a small first dish. Too much of it is not great on the tummy. Good taste just too strong and very heavy with the cheese and the bread.

Loved it, loved it, loved it. Followed it to the letter. My only suggestion is I would add more kale. The color and flavor of the green cabbage was lovely and gave this soup a heartiness and zest that made this winter dish even better. The savoy cabbage was nice, too. I added a sliced yellow onion sauteed along with the cabbages. The anchovies are delicious, but a favorite of mine so I never shirk from using them. Try them, try them. Good cooks know they are not the salty little devils most people don't like when they are cooked right. Although, I like the salty little devils, too. I also sprinkled some balsamic vinegar on top of the dish just before serving and it added a special piquancy to the flavor of the kale that put the whole dish over the top. Bravo, Jamie!
