This is delicious. I used a variety of tomatoes and also turned it into a tomato bread salad by adding 1" cubed toasted ciabatta bread. I toasted it with a little olive oil, garlic, s&p. It was amazing and worth the extra carbs!

We loved this recipe. Salting the tomatoes does make a difference. My daughter and I saw Jamie on TV making this and we both turned to each other and said, "We can do this!" We did and it was delicious. We have made it several times since.

This is one of my summer favorites. Great for BBQs or parties. Instead of making as a salad, I like to use a variety grape tomatoes and put them on kabob skewers. The dressing is just as the recipe calls for. Place the skewers on a platter and top with the dressing. Great party food!!

Great Recipe!!
I made a few changes:
I too did equal parts balsamic vinegar to olive oil
and I added blue cheese crumbles. This was very good!

Too much oil, it was the only thing I could taste. It just drowned out my beautiful fresh garden tomatoes and all the fresh herbs. I think equal parts vinegar and oil would work much better.

i made this 3 times last summer. it's very easy, and the results are amazing.
get the tomatoes at a farmer's market. just look for local heirloom tomatoes. organic certification costs a lot of money and will put many farmer's market sellers out of business, so don't worry about organic. talk to the seller and she or he will tell you if they use pesticides (almost all will not.
better yet, get heirloom seeds and grown several varieties yourself. it's easier than you might think!
