Use a 9x13 pan, mine were to the top of the 8x8 pan, with air pockets! Flavor is great.

These tasty toffee bars have become so popular with everyone I have baked them for that I included them in our holiday cookie baskets. It was a new hit! I under bake them to keep them soft and tender not quite so cakey. I also add chocolate chips on the light side for the chocolate lovers in my family. I agree that the pan size needs to be bigger. I bake them in a half size hotel pan. There's enough for everyone.
Thank you Jamie!!

This is the same recipe I have found on most sites, except this uses a smaller pan. I made these last time in a 9x13 pan and they were perfect!! Trust me, it's not too big. In fact, if i had a slightly larger pan I would use that. They come out chewy and buttery and delicious. I am giving this 4 stars because the recipe is delicious but the pan size is altogether wrong.

I followed the dirctions but cooked the bars for 40 minutes instead of 45. They were awesome!! I have made them twice now and they don't last long.

For me these toffee bars turned out great. I used a little larger pan and baked them at 375 for 40 minutes and waited to cut them for 30 minutes and they came out wonderful. This recipe is a keeper.

Cooked exactly as directed yet 3/4 of the bars were runny gooey even after waiting the 15 minutes to cool. The edges did not burn but had a burnt taste. I would recommend using a bigger pan, but it did not even taste good so don't bother with this recipe. Extremely sweet and gritty.

Mmmmmmmm...Yummy! These are divine, and by divine they are rich. What do you expect with butter and a good amount of brown sugar?! I watched this show and have been thinking of these bars all weekend. After reading the reviews about the cooking time differences and possible 'doughiness' in the middle and 'crisp' edges I decided to cook my bars at 350 for 10 min and then I turned the temp. up to 375 and cooked the bars for another 20 min. I trimmed the crisp edges right away and I actually cut them within 5 min of that. Mine are a more golden brown in color are crisp on the bottom and chewy in the center. The whole brownie tastes like toffee. I will definitely be making these again! What's next Jamie?

This is good morning, noon or night. I would say try waiting at least a hour before cutting. PERFECT, this will be on my table for the Holidays and food gift bags.

Normally I read all the reviews before I make a recipe. This time however, I did not read them until the bars were in the oven. With that being said, these bars have a wonderful flavor but need to be baked in a larger pan. 8x10 would probably work very well. A 9x13 would probably be too large. In an 8x8 pan the middle was still gooey, (although edible and the edges were starting to burn. I would definatly make these again. Thank you Jamie for a wonderful yummy treat
