I followed the dirctions but cooked the bars for 40 minutes instead of 45. They were awesome!! I have made them twice now and they don't last long.

For me these toffee bars turned out great. I used a little larger pan and baked them at 375 for 40 minutes and waited to cut them for 30 minutes and they came out wonderful. This recipe is a keeper.

Cooked exactly as directed yet 3/4 of the bars were runny gooey even after waiting the 15 minutes to cool. The edges did not burn but had a burnt taste. I would recommend using a bigger pan, but it did not even taste good so don't bother with this recipe. Extremely sweet and gritty.

Mmmmmmmm...Yummy! These are divine, and by divine they are rich. What do you expect with butter and a good amount of brown sugar?! I watched this show and have been thinking of these bars all weekend. After reading the reviews about the cooking time differences and possible 'doughiness' in the middle and 'crisp' edges I decided to cook my bars at 350 for 10 min and then I turned the temp. up to 375 and cooked the bars for another 20 min. I trimmed the crisp edges right away and I actually cut them within 5 min of that. Mine are a more golden brown in color are crisp on the bottom and chewy in the center. The whole brownie tastes like toffee. I will definitely be making these again! What's next Jamie?

This is good morning, noon or night. I would say try waiting at least a hour before cutting. PERFECT, this will be on my table for the Holidays and food gift bags.

Normally I read all the reviews before I make a recipe. This time however, I did not read them until the bars were in the oven. With that being said, these bars have a wonderful flavor but need to be baked in a larger pan. 8x10 would probably work very well. A 9x13 would probably be too large. In an 8x8 pan the middle was still gooey, (although edible and the edges were starting to burn. I would definatly make these again. Thank you Jamie for a wonderful yummy treat

These are wonderful and chewy. I saw Jamie make these earlier today. They looked so good I made them and took them to a party later in the day. They got rave reviews and I have to give the recipe to a few people. I took into account the cooking time problems that have been posted, so I used an 8 x 10 glass pan as suggested and cooked them for 40 minutes. The edges were a little crunchy, the middle was cooked all the way thru. Next time I might lower the temp a few degrees and cook for the same amount of time.

I have to say I love Jamie Deen, but this recipe just didn't work for me. I followed it to a tee. and it had a slight burnt taste with an under cooked inside. it was awkward to serve to guests because it fell apart when I tried to take it out of the pan. The flavor of the "uncooked" food, was yummy but it didn't come together. Reminded me of eating raw cookie dough, so if you like that I guess just make a batch of this and eat it while you watch love movies.

I like it, but for my taste I used less sugar.

We really enjoyed these. I have made them twice....they fell pretty bad both times. (Live in Denver, no earthly idea how to fix this Anyway, the first time I followed the recipe exactly. 2nd time, i used a litte less brown sugar and also used 1/4 c toffee bits, 3/4 c chocolate chips and no nuts. The 2nd ones were SO much better I couldn't believe it. My kids agreed....so this will be our new recipe. : YUMMMO
