In order for this cake to turn out right I used 1 cup of warm water and cutback a little on the cocoa powder. I left it in my oven for 27 minutes and it was perfect. Everyone loved the cake and was saing how MOIST it was :

We liked this cake, but per the dry comments decided to up the water to 1 cup. Beautiful, moist cake. Though I did ruin the dump method by boiling the water and mixing the cocoa in the boiling water first before dumping it into the mixing bowl. I also ran out of the cocoa for the icing, so I melted half a cup of semi sweet chocolate chips with the butter and called it good. I also added a cup and a half of sugar to get the texture I wanted. Then I refrigerated it for twenty minutes and whipped the icing again. The cake did stick a little to the pan, but it wasn't crumbly at all. We served it to friends and everyone, including the kids, loved it. :

I tried this cake for my parent's visit. It was pretty dry. It didn't crumble like others have stated, but it was not moist at all. The cake flavor itself was very good.

Was so looking forward to this. Don't know what happened but very dry and when I tried to get it out of the pan it just crumbled. Impossible to frost. However, the frosting was good.

Very disappointed! The cake was crumbly & dry..and the icing... I made 1 1/2 times the icing to frost a 2 layer cake and barely had any left. The consistency of the icing was way too soft even after cooling for 45 minutes. I had to add an additional 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar and even then when I was frosting the cake (which was completely cooled the cake was sliding. Supposed to take this to a birthday celebration..and extremely disappointed and frustrated.. I might be stopping and buying a cake.. what a complete waste of ingredients and time...
