Not only is this simple, it makes a rich dense chocolate cake that we all just loved! I'm not a fan of light and fluffy cakes. I love a dense cake and this is it! YUM!
The frosting was just perfect too. I make my cake in a 13x9 pan instead of making a layer cake and it turned out beautifully. This is now a family favorite!

I made cupcakes using this recipe. The batter was very easy to make and turned out delicious. I will probably use a different icing next time because it was just to chocolatey for me. I will definitely make these again. btw.... I baked the cupcakes for 15 min.

I substituted gluten free baking mix (Pamela's for he flour. The cake turned out great and tasted as if I used regular flour.I thought the icing was very good and not too sweet; although I used bittersweet (60% chocolate.

The cake batter itself was very easy to make, tasted good. The frosting was terrible, very sweet. I have 5 children a none of them would eat it. I love Jamie , but this frosting was a disappointment. I am not sure what cake the other people ate, but ours was too sweet to eat! Sorry Jamie :(

This was very good. Next time I'm cutting the cocoa powder. I think 1/2 to 2/3 is plenty. I also made mine in a 9x13 which 30 min at 350 seemed to be a bit much. 30 at 325 next time. I was being lazy and didn't check it at 25min like I should have. It is a nice cake though.
