Made this recipe for Thanksgiving, and it was a hit. Based on all the compliments from family and friends, I am adding it to my TG dinner from now on. Even those who normally don't eat sweet potato loved this dish. I didn't tweek the recipe. Thank you Jamie Deen!

This dish turned out AMAZING!! It was a huge hit and before I knew it, it was completely gone. I came across this recipe as I was searching for a sweet potato/yam dish that doesn't have 3 cups of sugar in it. This definitely hit the spot and I've already had requests to make it again. It was the perfect combination of sweet and salty, creamy and crunchy, and just pure delishiousness! The second time I made this dish, I decided to add some nutmeg and cinnamon to the sweet potato before I baked it. Of course, it was still delicious and gave it a more "holiday feel". I also let it cool and set for more than 10 minutes, in hopes that it would hold its shape better when served (which helped a little bit. All in all, this dish will be on our table quite often!!

This was amazingly good! I substituted veggie bacon, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. It had lots of crunch and was just the perfect mix of creamy, crunchy and sweet. Will definitely be on future Thanksgiving tables!

Made it for Thanksgiving this year. Even people who normally don't eat sweet potatoes went back for second helpings. In the future, I will probably increase the amount of pecans so the topping has more crunch to it.

So delicious! Made this for Thankgiving with a few tweaks, and I got a lot of compliments. My husband who isn't fond of sweet potatoes went back for seconds. My adjustments: I added a bit more brown sugar to the potato mix (about another half of what the recipe listed, I wanted to make sure the potatoes were sweet enough if someone got a scoop without much of the sugar topping and a decent amount of cinnamon and nutmeg. I did about half of the bacon and about half of the pecan sugar mixture for the topping, I think any more would have been too much. It was delicious, just sweet enough, a little salty/savory from the bacon, and wonderfully fluffy by mixing it all with a handheld mixer. Definitely use fresh roasted sweet potatoes (or yams as I did and not the canned stuff, I really think it made a big difference in the flavor. Putting this in my recipe file for next year! :

This is a 10 star dish! I was prepared to put marshmallows on 1/2 of the dish to appease the guests that typically would not eat sweet potatoes without them, so happy to report was not necessary. Everyone loved them. This will now be my go to sweet potato recipe. Thank you so much Deen Brothers!
