Made these and they came out perfectly. I used self rising flour and added milk chocolate chunks. I accidentally mixed the flour first with the sugar and they turned out fine.

I just made this cookie and it sounded wonderful but I would say it's only OK. I think what I would do with this recipe is incorporate the almond butter (freshly made into the cookie dough and use almond extract in place of the vanilla and skip the filling. I think the cookies can stand on their own. Maybe it was the almond butter I purchased but it didn't seem to have much flavor, least of all an almond flavor. I added 1/2 tsp. almond extract to the filling. One must be careful to not overbake these cookies and to have a very sharp knife when cutting them in half.

These cookies are AMAZING. I actually just used the base batter and made the most wonderful white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. I brought the leftovers to work and one of my coworkers declared that this was the best cookie she ever had. This one is definitely a keeper!

The base batter for these cookies are amazing. You wouldn't expect the almond butter to be so good with these but it adds a great rich flavor to it. I also added in 1/4 cup slivered almonds to the cookies and used crunchy almond butter for the filling (since the store had no other option. It added a wonderful bite to these cookies. I will make these again but with a whipped cream filling flavored with almond extract.

Pretty good. Like another reviewer, I used teaspoons as opposed to tablespoons when adding the filling.

Cookies were delicious. I just assembled them how I would any other sandwich cookie and they were a hit.

Looks yummy but the filling should be "Shmeared" in teaspoon measures not tablespoon. Or you don't have enough filling for the cookies or too much in each sandwich.
