I absolutely love Jeff, I couldn't wait to watch his show and he didn't disappoint me at all, there really is only two things that I think they could do better, one give him another show at night, and two where is his red headband?!

From one Chicagoan to another...niiiiiiiice!!! My mouth was watering as you walked through Johnnies. I'm making all the dishes you had on your show next weekend and will post my feedback. Bringing Chicago style to Vegas baby...I know I won't be disappointed. Welcome to Food Network and congrats!

I haven't tried this yet, but plan to real soon. It looked delish!! Thanks terwya, I was wondering how everyone already fixed this when it just aired this morning. I live in HOT Arizona so I'm going to skip the oven part and do mine in a slow cooker. Having a 300 deg oven on when it's already 112 outside just doesn't do it here. I'm confident it will be just as good either way. I've never tried that Hot Giardiniera but can't wait to make it. Jeff says it will keep 2-3 weeks in the frig, but I'm thinking with those ingredients it should keep much longer than that. It won't let me post this without a review so I'll give Jeff 5 stars for his show this morning. Can't rate the recipe yet cause I haven't made it yet; but, I'm sure it will be 5 stars as well.

FoodNetwork judges so made the best choice with Jeff. Watched his first show and will watch them all! He is personable, down to earth in his approach and I will actually try his recipes for my family! I could tast the beef and I, too, press my sandwiches with a bacon press and/ or a foil covered brick to do more than one. Going to make the pot roast Italian beef sandwiches for supper. Know from 45 yrs. of cooking that he has a winning recipe.

Jeff is a Food Network natural - engaging and informative. Chuck is a tough, yet affordable, cut of beef. However, the ingredients and cooking process makes it taste like a slice of heaven. If the ingredients lists for this sandwich looked overwhelming to some, the topping, giardiniera, can be made way ahead and keeps well for several days. It's also multifunctional as a marinated veggie side dish or quick addition to pasta for a tasty pasta salad. If you're really needing to cut corners, giardiniera is also available in jars at the grocery store, but, personally, I think homemade is always worth the extra effort.

Congrats Jeff, I loved your show it got me homesick for Chicago (live in L.Aand I can't wait to try your receipe for the homemade Beef. I grew up in Chicago in fact I hung out with your dad and your Aunt Catherine in the "Neighborhood". I hope your show is a big success and you go onto great things on the Food Network. Oh for those people who were wondering how are there reviews already out there on the food? The receipe was posted well before the show aired this morning.

This is a fabulous dish!!!! The meat was so much easier to use than any other beef AND with leftovers, the options are endless!!! During the show, it would be nice if we had an idea on amounts of liquids used. Nice job !!!!

Wow,my mouth was watering during this entire segment. I hadn't had an Italian beef sandwich since growing up in the Bronx many years ago and no one in my area makes one. I immediately drove to the supermarket to buy all the ingredients for both sandwiches. Could hardly wait for the roast to be done but the wait was worth it. Fabulous sandwich. Enjoyed chef Mauro's presentation very much.
